@stevenroose that could kill most of current fediverse servers. Imagine thousands of new users spreading their media to all small servers. They will explode easily.

@spla Not really, servers only share data when users in other servers are interested in it. So existing fedi users would have to follow the #Twitter users.Sure, it would be a sudden influx if a ton of new users we potentially could follow. But it wouldn't necessarily mean a higher load on servers. Only on servers with users that decide to follow lots of Twitter users..

@stevenroose of course current users must start following those activitypub powered twitter users but still. Poor admin of a server if their users decide to follow some thousand tw accounts
