@JonathanMBR There isn't much point in making the image description a copy of the main text. It'd be better to mention things that were not made clear in the post, like what species of animal we are talking about, or that there are three much smaller tortoises next to it in the photo.

Tam Dalyell."Because it makes me wonder whether that's one of the factor that led to their focus shifting to the Chagos Archipelago, the forced deportation of its inhabitants and the establishment of the US base on Diego Garcia.

Tam Dalyell."Because if that "consideration" resulted in the establishment of Diego Garcia military base, then did the protection of the species really made a difference? Like, they were willing not to bother a bunch of turtles, but ok to forcibly expel the Chagossian from the archipelago?

Jonathan is an amazing giant turtle!my turtles are little ones, Asian turtles. they don't live 190 years, only 50-60. but this is long enough for a little turtle.
