@Gina People who have direct electricity for heating are really taking a blow over here.A neighbor has that and her bill is up several thousand.My building thankfully uses water for heating, so it's what we call "indirect electricity" use.

@Gina if you install solar panels they compensate the amount of what you supply. In Germany you only get about 1/3 of the money and have to jump through burning burocratic hoops

@Gina Kinda same thing happening in germany. Energy prices are through the roof… Lucky me has a 2 year contract with prices before the huge spike so for now i’m good. Don’t you guys can switch energy providers? maybe another one has better prices.

@Gina (UK) I saw a similar increase in December and then a 54% increase this month... The December increase was over 100% and after I called them up it turns out they had just massively overinflated the price to, I presume, make a quick buck from those who weren't going to pay attention to the Direct Debit hikes before the first payment. Is this an estimate based on some outlandish usage estimates or quite literally just a change of base rates? Hoping it doesn't end up hitting you this hard 🙏

@stuts Luckily its an estimate. I opted out of 'going with the new price', meaning I'll keep paying the old price and will be hit with a massive bill by the end of the year. @Gina I got a similar increase in the price of the gas. From 60€ to 300€ more or less (depending on the month).And also a big increase (around 150%) in the electricity bill. This is in spain.

@fedops Thanks 👍 Added natural gas to my charting program :)And yes, natural gas is indeed used a lot which I presume stems from our big gas field 'Slochteren' ... which we decided to stop using not too long ago due to the earthquakes and the consequent damages to people's houses and safety.Yesterday I bought yogurt at AH for which they advertised a while ago that it would never change in price (€0.69 per liter). It was discounted: 2nd free ... yet still €1.99 per liter 🤔 (ie: 3x)@Gina
