Someone pointed out that if Poland or whoever puts troops in, they have technically cancelled the NATO Article 5, since they are now the aggressors against Russia. They’ve barely made any advances in the south or east for weeks. Most of that territory was held a month ago. And they also had a significant presence in northern Ukraine and especially around Kyiv a month ago. The Russian military hasn’t been stalled to negotiate for fucking corridors, they’re stalled because their military was shittier than they realized, and the firepower that they assumed would be sufficient to take Ukraine simply isn’t. That’s why they retreated out of Northern Ukraine and are moving forces to the East, because they think holding Donbas so it can be a concession in the peace deal might be viable, while they know now taking Ukraine as a whole isn’t.

The thing Westerners don’t understand about Russia is that Russians actually remember the 90’s and what it looked like when they were “embraced” by the West.
