Don't really remember any raping scandals.Orthodox priests are encouraged to marry and have a family anyhow, and the dogmas do not treat procreation as the original sin, so it probably does not attract homos as much.

Orthodoxy is kind of like the Fediverse IRL. Even Antioch, which is basically freemason Heaven, doesn't deviate in the day to day or the teachings, their priests just might give some bad advice during Confession.

@maxi @colonelj @crunklord420 The thing with the Catholic pedo scandals is, the Catholic Church has been centralized in a very direct way since about 1200 AD. The Pope selects and manages every bishop in the World, directly, and bishops don't have authority outside their jurisdiction. What this means is, for relocation efforts like what happened there, the Pope himself has to be aware of the situation.Things didn't work that way before Catholicism and they still don't work that way in the Orthodox Church. All bishops have equal authority (which is to say, not that much, short of a proper ecumenical council.) It also means you the best you can get away with is local embezzlement, which actually has happened. There are homosexual scandals in Orthodoxy but rarely pedos because there is no relocating priests without questions, all bishops are confined to their own jurisdictions.

I am russian and will always be for Russia and russians.But I will never see priests losing their сан (ecclesiastical title) because governement says so, just like I will never support religion being another branch of state propaganda.Religion and the state are meant to be separate, and I will never accept than than for anything other than corruption and subversion.

But that's not how the Orthodox do things. Our way may not always be pretty, but it works, we will never have pride flags in Church.

The Orthodox Church has no problem cutting off rotting limbs.Religion was never detached from the State until the Gregorian Reforms in the late middle ages, and Christianity did just fine for the first 1,000 years. It may seem like a problem in focus rn, but the alternative would destroy the entire thing. The solution is to improve the State, not to decouple the two.

But the fallout between him and Orthodoxy happened because he's been stealing jurisdictions that don't belong to him, mostly along Russian lines. There's also been an attempt to create a co-jurisdiction between Orthodox and Catholics in Ukraine, which is a huge problem. In Orthodoxy, Communion is an endorsement. It means "you and me are the same thing."He generally seems to be more partial to the Catholic Church than anyone else. I wouldn't be surprised if the Greek Orthodox Church became part of the Catholic Church in coming decades.This is actually a large part of the tensions that have lead to the War in Ukraine, btw. It started out with jurisdictional conflicts on the religious front.
