40% of China is now under lockdown and every day that means more companies that will not be getting 100% of what the products they ordered. Mexico anyone? Colombia? Thailand? India? Poland? Or will you bring your production home?"Get ready for the next supply chain shockwave"https://www.freightwaves.com/news/get-ready-for-the-next-supply-chain-shockwave

@Malarkey33 Who could have seen this coming??...I mean, I've only been warning people since the 90s about how BAD an idea it was to put all your eggs into the China basket. Fucking Bill Clinton.

@Dan_Ramos this is exactly what we all get for playing the global economy game.We consumers allowed these companies to maximize profits at the sake of our independence and workforce, all for the sake of a cheaper, interior product. We reap what we sow.

@Dan_Ramos they should have started shifting to US production months or years ago. It’s not going to be a quick process to build factories and train workers, let alone figure out how to not violate EPA guidelines.

@KellyS They should NEVER have moved production to a known dictatorially run government that openly calls itself communist or socialist. You had to be a fucking imbecile to think it would all be fine.

@Dan_Ramos I don't think they cared about the politics, just the money. You're about my age, you remember when WalMart used to be almost all "Made in the USA" stuff? Then Mr. Walton died and his kids took over and now it's "ChinaMart".It was about greed.

@KellyS Here's the thing about that... It's about greed but how did you think it would end up playing out? Ultimately, this would always end up putting your supply chain and properties in the control of a foreign entity that has a known history of never honoring their contracts and has EXACTLY your free market in its sights to destroy by any means it sees fit. I saw that back in the 90s and kept yelling about it but I was told I was overreacting and wrong. Heh! Wish I was.

@KellyS@noagendasocial.com @Dan_Ramos@noagendasocial.com China has been playing the "long game" for decades. They've known that if they keep providing us stuff cheaper than we can make it in the USA, we'll just keep printing money and shutting down our own means of production in the USA.The end state is of course an America that is completely dependent upon China for our existence (unable to even make our own shoes, for example), and therefore essentially "Conquered without firing a Shot". Perfect Sun Tzu "Art of War" strategy.

@Dan_Ramos I don't own a business, I don't run a company. I knew how the hell it would end up playing out, but there's nothing that I can do to stop Walmart from becoming Chinamart.

@KellyS Same. I did as much as I could to prefer buying stuff made anywhere else until I wasn't even given a choice at all. If I'm not given a choice, how the hell am I even responsible? I wish I could have been given the choice but very little is being made domestically and I'm not always looking for the lowest price like some people.
