@RedTechEngineer @sjw @p for poast it's the sheer amount of talent my users have. providing them an outlet to make me laugh every day, to make projects or otherwise contribute things that make fedi (and the internet) better is what drives me. these people depend on me and poast being around 24/7 so i will and have made it my full-time 24/7 duty to do that. if i didnt have the userbase i do now behind me, it probably wouldn't be worth it. poast is the largest most-used instance on the fediverse so we have unique challenges every single day. sometimes i rely on pete, alex or others to wade thru it as well. we all prop eachother up. it's like a family here and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else

@sjw @RedTechEngineer @p good to hearwe are running poast through a whitelisted proxy so its still based for now but i want the ability for us to use torguard's socks5 proxy so poast has ~120+ IPs it federates fromthe guy who runs rakket.app blocked poast and FSE at the nginx level, not defederated but full on blocked us accessing his shit from our standard IPs so sometimes I change the upstream IP we use for poast and force it to federate shit to his instance lol but going forward having multiple proxy instead of one is much better for security (and for running instances at home)
