@koba_ape_leader I went to a Baptist sermon once at request of a friend. The topic was that the pastor is the shepherd and the congregation were sheep that should follow unquestionably bc pastor knows best. Guessing the sign is church “clickbait” for a similar message.

@SirDanielT @koba_ape_leader It’s also the case that those who haven’t repented and turned away from their previous sins and acknowledged their sinful nature and need of salvation are natural enemies of God. That is one of the most profound things about the death of Christ, is that he died not to save his friends or family or for some great moral cause. He died because it was the father’s will to save his enemies, his own wayward children and return them to his family. 2/3 now…

@SirDanielT @koba_ape_leader All that said there is great freedom in being a Christian and that freedom extends to your thought life as well, you have to define what free thinker means. If free means without any structure… well that way evil and madness lie. If free means not conforming to the powers of the world and keeping oneself separated from evil influences… well that is expected of a Christian. The real question is, are you “free” from authority, or “free” to do good work.
