@tangleofsnakes Here's the bit that men, even gay men, do not seem to understand. Lesbian women are not aggressive, harassing, sex-pests. It's probably a socialization thing and a safety thing, in equal measure - because hitting on the wrong lady could get her hurt. Men don't routinely get their asses beat, for aggressively hitting on women who clearly aren't interested (though they absolutely deserve it). They assume lesbian women are afforded the same courtesy. So it's a massive blind spot that men have here, and they really think it makes them look smart to paint lesbian women as being as disgusting as men, when they couldn't be any more different.

@tangleofsnakes This is really the essence of what men like India want to do; they want to toss the short-haired, non-“feminine” women out of the women’s club, slap on some makeup, and insert themselves. That way, men can potentially dominate both groups.I want diversity among women. I am almost as sad about the (self-imposed) removal of short-haired, non-“feminine” women from the women’s “club” as I am about the insertion of men. I know it has become a cliche to say that diversity is strength, but I do think there is truth to it. We can do if we can have women with different viewpoints and strengths all working together. I think men like India know that and don’t like it.

@Childfree @tangleofsnakes This reminds me of the man on This Morning who was upset at being misgendered because he had a pink coat on. Someone really needs to take these men aside and explain to them that people may dress how they wish or have different hairstyles, but that doesn't change their sex. Not everyone learns at the same rate and there should be no shame in needing extra support to grasp essential concepts. We embrace adult education for skills like reading and maths, so why not for these basic biological facts where (for whatever reason) they missed these lessons? 😜
