Marco Rubio, who is often seen as the face of the slimy Republican Party lizard, was the populist candidate when he exploded on the scene in 2009-2010. Translating that into a national movement isn't doable, not any more.People don't take the "national divorce" rhetoric seriously enough. Even if the influencers pushing it are fake and gay, the reality is that people in one state have nothing in common with people in another state. At best, they have kinship with a neighboring metropolitan area, but you can't extend it past 1-2 states.National politics is as fake and gay as the relationship our citizens have with the other, unrecognizable people claiming to be fellow-citizens worthy of equal treatment and respect. You can't make it real again just by pointing out that everyone is frustrated.

No rolling back the Civil Rights Act, but extremely harsh on immigration, illegal and legal.That's an agenda I can sell the current "fine with the Republican Party" base on, at least within a state. Especially with the recent tranny garbage that finally shook some of them up. It requires a small group dedicated to that agenda, plus credibility-building once they can start pushing legislation. You kind of see that already with what DeSantis is doing in Florida, pushing a minor rollback agenda entirely limited to his state. He's got the GOP base with him, even as the rest of the nation denounces him. But he's never going to kick out the Charlie Kirks or the Dave Rubins (who actually just moved to FL and is hyping DeSantis up). I have no illusions that could go national. And it will never go radical enough for the Poast crowd. But the capture is possible.

I'd bet I've personally done more entryism than any GOP water carrier in hopes of finding some angle, somewhere for change. Even when Race War Summer: 2020 Edition created an immediate, existential threat to these local interests, their interest in doing anything about it vanished the moment the riots stopped. There's a reason the one and only issue the GOP took up for their base was anti-COVIDism because it was killing small, medium, and large businesses, bringing local, state, and federal donor interests into perfect alignment.Entryism is ultimately asking old, well-off men to embrace revolutionary politics and that's simply never going to happen.
