There has been no change in the rules at baraag. Realistic 3D art is not banned and no 3D artist has been suspended or have had their works deleted. When creating an account here, it implies having read and agreed to the Terms of Service which states how content such as 3DCG may be delisted. The ToS remains the same and has not been updated. It is not my intention to take the stance that 3D art deserves less exposure than 2D art. In the end, I will always defend hosting any art that is fantasy.

@satori đź’–đź’–đź’–Thanks so much for having an online space like this to begin with! I'm just happy to have a site where anyone can post whatever fantasy they like without harassment or judgement.

@satori 3DCG is a slippery slope, I guess. Even lolibooru banned it. I just wish there was a way to find the shadowbanned content. As it stands, 3DCG artists might feel discouraged from even trying to build a following.

@EscBoy there is no way for me to objectively draw the line and define the threshold in realism for not being soft muted. That is why it is “at our discretion.”I understand the frustration and uncertainty for realistic 3D artists. I also accept that I need to do better about being transparent with delisting their works when it happens. “Hyperrealistic” art may paint a target on the back of this art community but that is not an excuse for the lack of communication towards the artists affected.

@satori i'd imagine if the 3D is "indistinguishable from a photo", it'd probably be "too realistic"-but i guess even there one could argue about unrealistic scenarios or creatures being involved, like hyperinflation or dragons.at the same time; if your 3D looks like you pasted the face of an existing human into it, you might be in deep waters..i only draw 2D though, but i also really appreciate Baraag being here, since i can share work most sites ban :blobheart:

@satori i get it, but there are also people who don't change and keep to criticize people for something they don't like and others do, no one is perfect.

@gwen_Fan please use the block button for people who make content you do not like instead of criticizing them with toxic harassment.

@satori this isn't entirely true. I know for a fact that @chinkoran was told to remove all of their work last year.

@satori @EscBoy My standards are "lifelike skin tone, face, color scheme, and maybe BG", but I mute most artists who post transgressive 3DCG in any capacity (even heavily-stylized). My rule of thumb is that it should not only be DISTINGUISHABLE from the real-life counterpart, but it shouldn't FEEL too similar. I wish there were more mandatory tags, like one for stylized 3D (as that's subjective) and realistic/semi-realistic 2D (think similar principles I mentioned earlier), but I'll stay if not.
