       I feel that there's an irony in that some forms of misanthropy-- like distrust of human society and expansion of resource extraction-- is actually more likely to save humanity in the long run than championing human exceptionalism. Continued exploitation of the earth to maximize human convenience and industrial output is much more likely to make the planet unliveable for us.

       Now that I think about it, this is sort of obvious given that the reigning capitalist system doesn't take human existence into much consideration and assumes perpetual human population (or customer) growth

       @grumpy I don't know.. Your experience might be different, but for me, going down the misanthropic doom-scrolling rabbit hole usually tends to turn me into a passive, mindless consumer more than anything else. It makes me question who I am actually getting up for in the morning and why I even try.But I guess misanthropy is a very abstract word and we probably mean different things by it.
