@oliphaunt Haha, don't worry. If she thinks the blockchain is key here we have nothing to worry about. In fact, I think that the steps that we are seeing when it comes to government operated digital currencies will in the long run accelerate the development of next generation crypto. I do not believe for a moment that bitcoin is the saviour. I believe that we first need a massive, tear inducing, though provoking crypto crash like 1929, and based on the lessons learned, the next (...)

@oliphaunt generation crypto will come and that will be the superhit. As it is today, the only value I see in crypto is for avoidign taxes and currency blocades, and this is important, but not enough for it to be used as a currency that is more econvenient than what we have.

@h4890 @oliphaunt not to mention the crypto hack and scam, I'm against using crypto myself because of the ever widening technological knowledge gap. Not to mention weird name community invented everyday.its safer to use commodity based currency instead.

@phagusX @oliphaunt I'm not against crypto per se, but for me , living in europe, there is absolutely no benefit that I cannot achieve through other more reliable means. I've minimized my taxes by incorporating a lot of areas in my life and by living in 2 countries, so that's a more or less solved problem. I also do not do anything criminal so I have no need to avoid currency restrictions. And I do agree with you that at the moment the entire crypto space is full of scams. I just (...)

@phagusX @oliphaunt hope that there will be a next generation crypto that fixes this, and until then, I use other currencies instead. For long term holdings, the best option I have found is real estate and investments in conservative, dividend paying companies.

       > I also do not do anything criminalπŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ It is always only temporary. Whatever you do, it will sooner or later be deemed illegal (for ease of enslavement and taking away property). Although I wouldn't keep more than 10% of my savings in crypto.
