i'd email people to let them know their spam filter ate their registration email for berserker.town, but it would probably get eaten by the spam filter too, seeing as it would be coming from the same email server...

@thor Just purge accounts that don't activate within 48h and don't worry about it. :^)

@thor You can't fix stupid. If there's a notice on the registration confirmation page telling them to check junk, you've done all you can, short of dropping the requirement.

@Zergling_man i don't think there is such a notice. any change to the source code is a bit of an ordeal because it's a big code base. there is no way of setting up such a notice in the admin UI. for most stuff you want to insert on a Mastodon site, you're looking at source code modifications.

@thor GAFAM be like: « we need to allow outsider, ex.: corporate email servers, to send/receive email through our networks and mitigate spams… or… only allow corporations to link their domain names and let us manage their emails so they are inside from the start and we can still block/mark as spam the rest. Nice ! Problem solved ! »

@thor Could use nginx rewrite in a suitable location block with a very specific match. :DIt's dumb but it works.
