#EducateMePlease #clueless #electricityHow important is it to ground* a refrigerator? Instructions say to attach the green wire to something like a water pipe.Weeeell... The space for the fridge is right next to the sink. But still the wire isn't long enough [to connect to anything]. ☹️

@evelyn @big_diggity Normally I'd expect the plug to have an earth, but yours doesn't‽You could replace the non-earth cable with a twin+earth and earthed plug maybe?(it looks like the socket has earth)Or get a confident+competent friend to help!

@evelyn I'm not sure a travel adaptor would connect the earth, and probably not good to run long term either. I'd suggest either replacing the plug with a three pin version, connecting the existing earth cable in, and using cable ties or similar to ensure the earth cable stays with the liveOr replace the live and earth cables completely with something that has all three in one. And a new plug.

I asked the guy who installed my range hood yesterday about the green ground wire on my fridge and he didn't think I needed to fuss with it.My bro came by today and thought the same. I guess it's all good then. 🤷♀️#electricity #homeappliances
