There's a reason they're getting every deal under the sun, and it isn't because their supposedly rebadged holosun optics are just THAT good. I forget the specifics, but every time I've heard the scuttle about their deals there's something underhanded like partying with the purchasing managers, undercutting competitors after eavesdropping on their plans, promising "american made" optics only to have the bulk completed in china - that sort of thing

I like the durability of my Triji stuff, but I'd never pay what they're asking. They know they can basically charge whatever the hell they want to without worry, and having a gov contract often lets them grift more off the wannabes while dropping the cost to uncle sam. I remember seeing a surefire department order once and coming away thinking they basically tack on a 100% markup for civilians. Plus, you still have that problem wondering if it's made in the US to begin with. I have a strong suspicion that many things these days are just parts, import the glass from japan, the electronics from china, and thread your own aluminum tubes in the states and say it's AMERICAN MADE. There's no regular kit in the market any more, it's all 1/4th the cost of a cheap car or chinese faff.

There has been a huge move away from the acogs now that 1-6 are the hot new thing. GWOT was fantastic advertising for them but they just aren't as useful as variable magnification in an LE setting, so you can get them for about $4-700, depending on condition. The more worn the cheaper, which if you ask me is even better.

But that holographic red dot is just so fast to acquire. I can't beat my ACOG times with irons, and my EOtech times beat both.

I'm a little more rural, so my go-to is just a 1-6 so I could connect with critters down the lane or across the field. My neighbor peppered my fence with shot a while back because he was trying to take out a coyote, he has those old man coke bottle glasses and can't even see a person at 10 yards, much less a critter skulking away through the pasture. I've offered to mount a little rail on his mossberg with a cheap bushnell but he's got that "oh shut up I can see just fine you're crazy" thing old guys do. I'm afraid he's gonna pepper the wrong thing and cause a fiasco, but whatever.
