       @djsumdogAs much as I wanted to read this post fully: Right at the beginning of your argument you are missing one important fact (or failed to account for it): NATO does not "expand" as the Sowjet Union did. You have to apply for it and get accepted. Thats not quite the same as annecting another country and push your borders towards another power by doing so. Or am I missing something? :/

       @lazalatin I guess that is true. It's still expanding by encouraging membership .. I mean a church grows by evangelism, but people choose to join of their own free will, and the church then has to accept their membership. I feel like the differences is semantics.
