Filled up gas at Costco yesterday. Went up 20 cents from then to this morning. Might have to get a horse.

@WuTangHam Bicycles are cheaper than horses.

@KellyS True, but possibly not than the bike I want...But I’ve already got a couple (bikes), so I should not complain or covet another. And no cost for feed with the bike either!

@WuTangHam I had a similar situation. The station I filled up at last night had a tanker there. This morning it was up 18 cents to match the place I usually buy from.

I filled up yesterday at the cheap place for $5.15 a gallon, today drove past and it's $5.35. @WuTangHam

@WuTangHam I'm looking for my n+1 bicycle. I have a nice electric cargo bike, but theft around here is rediculous, and I worry everytime I take it somewhere. I keep my eye on craigslist for a decently priced clunker bike, but I'm kinda picky. (I want fenders, a rack, and an upright posture.)

@KellyS Ah, your clunker sounds like my CX/utility bike - single speed for easy maintenance and decked out with fenders, rack, etc. And it’s a blast to ride. Would like a second, but these seem to be in greater demand these days (discontinued years ago). If you can find a used one for cheap and don’t live in an area where you need to ride over hilly terrain, I recommend.

@KellyS The n+1 I currently want is this, despite never having ridden one, guessing availability is tight, and haven’t gotten over the price tag (especially for the 2x11). But your electric sounds fun too.https://wilier.com/en/my2023/int/endurance-bikes/gravel-bikes/jena

@WuTangHam Electric assist was pretty much a requirement. Aweeks woth of groceries plus an 8 year old kid adds up quick, especially on my almost 45 year old knees lol.

@WuTangHam Yikes 3700 euro is a lot. My cargo bike was $4000 USD a few years ago, but it is actually a replacement for a car. And compared to buying a car (and gasoline, insurance, parking fees, etc) it's a pretty good deal.I'd like my n+1 bike to be under $200 USD. Or I might end up getting a Brompton that I could fold up and take inside with me.

@KellyS Yep, that's why it's presently no more than an object of lust as I don't think it will fully replace my car (although maybe it could in some situations). My single speed certainly did when I lived in Chicago for trips to the grocery/bar/etc., but I need more gearing in Carolina now. That is a great benefit saving on gas, insurance, etc. Good luck finding that utility bike. I'd imagine you will eventually find something on ebay, Craigslist, Goodwill, etc.

@WuTangHam They go fast AF on Craigslist here. I"m not in a huge rush, something will turn up sooner or later, and if not, I'll get one after we move next year.
