       #Autistic and #neurodivergent people who have safe foods, or foods you turn to in times of burnout, post shutdown / meltdown, high stress - what are those foods?I know sensory issues are a major element, but I have a theory that the foods we gravitate to also have a normalising effect on neurotransmitters.Tell me what your safe foods are and I'll tell you if I've come across information about how they effect neurotransmitters.

       @freedcreativeTree nuts, chocolate, coffee. The last two might count as drugs more than food though...

       @TransGal4872 @freedcreative aaaaaaaaaaaaah, I'd love to turn to caffeine when broken but I can't reliably boil water and remember I am boiling water when not feeling well so no tea/coffee for me ;=;

       @strypeyAny particular tree nuts?I go for chocolate and coffee too, of course both serotonin boosters.Coffee spattering depletes serotonin over time, and I really should drop it, but it's one of my favourite things in life so I'm gonna keep trying to make it up elsewhere.

       @ArchivistBoth definite serotonin boosters.If I have rice at dinner I'm a different person the next day.I will go from sheer hopelessness to being full of optimism between dinner and the following breakfast.Or from burning limbs to manageable pain levels.

       @freedcreativeI eat a mix of almond, cashew, hazel, pecan, walnut, and brazil nuts. I've had the same thoughts about coffee. I'm trying to keep it to one a day, and start the day with green tea instead.
