So after 7 years of selfhosting my own email-server, I have probably decided to move to a hosted solution.Suggestions?

@selea why are you giving up? Too much time devoted to manage the service? Being labelled as spammer? Or email subtly discarded by infamous providers?

@selea I've been very happy with hey.com. Assuming that you are happy to support a company like Basecamp.

@reedyn I just looked quickly, and it looks like that it is a monthly cost of 12USD per month per user if I want a custom domain right?

@selea I'm pretty happy with ProtonMail, but you need a gateway software if you want IMAP access.

@selea With that you get one account to login with and unlimited aliases (which I abuse heavily)

@selea They also support features that Gmail has with variables in domain names. For example I have an alias for my blog: blogg@gustavlindqvist.se. I can then add blogg+kommentarer@gustavlindqvist.se to automatically tag it with "kommentarer"

@reedyn +delimiter is something that is use alot too in postfix, I do think that it is standard nowadays in most hosting providers.I would need atleast separate mailaccounts, and 12$/per month per account makes is kinda expensive for me (I pay 300SEK/month for my server)

@selea I use that to easily have a separate e-mail for every service.

@JonossaSeuraava @selea @mailbox_org yunohost (or maybe modoboa) if you want machine to run something BESIDES mail. Mailinabox is more of a distro than a service

@selea Yeah it's pretty expensive. At first they intended to have different pricing for consumers and corporations for custom domain but it seems they scrapped the consumer variant and just renamed the one for corporations to "Domains" and kept the pricing.

@selea I use mailbox.org with multi domains. The webmail is pretty functional and usable. Security and confidentiality is implemented as first statement. I chose it after evaluating protonmail, tutanota and riseup, pricing and usability. FairEmail on mobile and webmail on PC.
