Sadly, I need a Windows VM, which VM software is best for that kinda thing? Should I stick to VirtualBox or is there anything else that might be better?Or should I just dual boot. I don't particularly care about performance, but I want a decent experience...#askfediverse #askfedi #askmastodon

@joel What base OS? Virtualbox gets the job done on Linux or older Mac systems but it isn’t even an option if you have an M1 Mac

@chris I just have to use Microsoft Access because of an assignment for a databases class, so yeah, I don't think I need that much performance

@joel I had to make a Windows VM and with Gnome Boxes it was pretty easy and seems to work fine. :)

@joel Right on. That makes sense. VB should be plenty. Oh the flashbacks to my own coursework with Access. Can you at least get away with subbing in sqlite for a lot of the work?

@joel There are plenty of good choices on linux, including VirtualBox.Gnome Boxes is a simple but limited VM solution and if you want something more customizable yet with a nice gui there's KVM+Virt manager

I couldn't install 11 because my laptop doesn't have the storage, but I am typing this from a windows vm, and yes, using Microsoft Edge because after installing office I literally only have 3GB of storage left xD
