       @Hyolobrika I guess the difference is that ownership of the domain name number comes with a right — that computer number will point where you want it! and to be fair to the NFT people, they’d say the difference in their case is that everybody agrees you own that number rather than one person writing it down in a book

       @Hyolobrika (my criticism of the NFT stuff is that we’re a very long way from “everyone agrees” you own something if you hold the NFT; their speculation is that eventually this will be the case)

       @tomharris There are blockchain domain name systems already (#Namecoin, #Handshake, #ENS, etc). Those are technically NFTs (non-fungible tokens / digital entities).You are right that they don't really have adoption yet but that's a time problem.The only problem with them that I can see is that ATM AFAIU, you need a full copy of the blockchain in order to resolve names in a decentralised way, otherwise you need to use a centralised inproxy like Cloudflare with #ENS. I hope I am wrong about that
