       Just so everyone understands the dystopia:Company modifies a gene. Company patents the gene mod. Company grows "product" with gene mod.You propagate the plant at scale. They have the gene in your plants as proof you've stolen their IP by copying their licensed gene mod.They sue you, not for breaking some EULA bs prohibition on a package, they sue you for intellectual property and IP theft and you loose on those grounds because of an outdated copyright legal framework.

       @nomand this is true, and to clarify, what happens is your dipshit neighbor plants GMO seeds. Some of those plants spread their seeds into your field. Your field is contaminated with GMO shit. Then you get sued. So other farmers think maybe they should just get GMO seeds right away so they don't get sued and suddenly no one is using non GMO.
