       @coolbsd Really? That's too bad. That will probably mean the end of me as a mastodon user. I have an account on mastodon.socicial but I never feel like logging into it. I can understand why he would feel like killing this instance. It doesn't really seem like he gets much out of keeping it going.

       @rob He's said in his latest video that he's tired of it and that creating this instance was more of a proof of concept. He hasn't definitively stated he's ending the server but he said he might let it all go because he hates maintaining this stuff, it's to time consuming. I don't blame him.

       @coolbsd If that happens I might make my own instance and invite people on here to it, it doesn't really effect me as much as it would a non federated proprietary service potentially shutting down.

       @coolbsd I hope kirby's instance works out if that's the case. I like this instance because it's pretty chill, some cool people here. Whenever i look at the federated timeline i'm just like "nope" so I hope there's a good replacement

       @coolbsd hopefully it doesn't, had a really fun time here. If or when distrotoot will end I'll probably make my own mastodon instance or run a forum.
