I'm getting super close to purchasing an older F350 and a new Continental Cargo trailer to haul all of our crap across the country, and was wondering if anyone here had any thoughts or experience on aftermarket trailer brake control systems? I'm going to be driving a 7000lb trailer from one side of Candinavia to the other and I'm most assuredly not interested any on-road drama. Also, any info on the quality of this brand of trailer would also be appreciated.

Jesus - trailer sway control systems. I wonder if this much disconnect is a sign of something wrong with me? Then again, moving from British Columbia to Nova Scotia is a clear sign of some sort of mental illness to be sure.

@GettingCooked ..if your NOT looking for storage after arriving (ie you plan to use the trailer for storage at the new house)... id look at a gooseneck livestock trailer with rubber matts on floors and use plywood to cover openings at the top of trailer walls....price comparison wise?

@CattleBaron Trailers, like everything, are in short supply around these parts and I have very few choices. I've landed on a 7foot wide by 18foot long tandem axle cargo trailer with a side door and a ramp back door. If I don't get myself killed driving across the country, I'm either going to sell it or turn it into a bespoke camper trailer.

@CattleBaron Probably not. Our plan is to buy a small house, somewhere in the Annapolois Royal - Digby corridor, and then focus on finding an acreage to build our forever home. And then we'll either rent out the house or sell it...

@GettingCooked in the us the term bumper hitch is more talking about location any solid hitch needs hooked to the frame. "Bumper" vs "5th wheel" aka "goose neck" where the hitch ball is mounted in the bed of the pickup. Whats the term in canada for the hitch ball located in the pickup bed?

@GettingCooked Spend the money and get a Tekiosha proportional controller. Set it for the current brake requirements. Drive to NS with no hand control required.
