"Vaccines reduce deaths"More and more of the population is vaccinated and the death rate gets higher and higher. They aren't working.

@catgirl the death rate is going higher because the infection rates are so much higher than anything we've seen before. I don't wanna begin to imagine the death toll if all the infected were unvaccinated

@schratze If vaccines worked the infection rate would be reduced. Yet here we are. This graph here is relative to population (e.g. based on cases per 100,000) we still see the same rises in cases. In February of 2021 where the virus was not as contagious as omnicron the deaths were higher. Despite our vaccines we're now seeing an increase in the death rate.

@catgirl you have to take into account all the other measures that were in place last year and that aren't in place anymore. Many people are working who didn't work last year. Many are forced to go back to their jobs only five days after a covid infection. Many have stopped wearing masks. Vaccines alone will not stop the spread. You also have to wear masks and isolate as much as possible

@schratze If vaccines worked them working wouldn't be an issue.

@catgirl if I'm reading your chart right, the US has a death rate slightly lower than last year around the same time. Meanwhile the infection rate is three or four times as high as it was last year. That means the vaccinations are working absolute wonders right now

@schratze I do support mask wearing and the few times I go out it's wearing an N95 mask. I don't support our vaccination efforts because they aren't working. I've been both vaccinated and boosted as early as they would let me. Yet even vaccinated people aren't safe from COVID-19. Only mask wearing will do that.

@catgirl @schratze And proper masks, not the paper ones or scarves which were never designed for it.

@inference @schratze At home we're wearing the blue surgical masks (largely just due to a low supply of KN95s sadly I only have a few 100 remaining and around 100 actual N95s) where anytime out it's KN95 or N95 depending on what's available and whose most at risk. My younger siblings at public school wear KN95s where I being diabetic tend to wear N95s for maximized protection.

@catgirl As long as its the people who refuse to get vaccinated who are dying, I don't see the problem.

@starbreaker Amazing to see the lack of concern of human life for anyone who disagrees with your take. I say this as someone who is fully vaccinated and boosted. Vaccines do not work. Data supports this.

@catgirl I'm confused as to where this idea comes from that a vaccine helps against the infection rates when basically all other measures are taken to ensure that people can get infected. Vaccines aren't magic. They reduce your chance of getting infected or spreading the virus, they prevent death and long-time consequences in many cases and they mean you recover more easily. But they can't magically make the virus go away.

@schratze I'm talking about the death rate. We have over 60% of the population fully vaccinated and not even a 30% drop in deaths.

@catgirl I agree that mask wearing and isolating oneself are extremely important, but getting vaccinated is also crucial

@catgirl the other problem we have that there are runaway mutations which are less and less affected by the vaccines we have. Gotta make a new vaccine, roll that out, only to discover that another variant has already developed in the mean time

@schratze So at this point vaccines are no longer an effective tool to stop the spread. We should have a mask mandate similar to the EU where you have to wear FFP2/3 or greater masks. (Here we call them N95 and KN95) not a vaccination mandate for vaccines that do not work.

@catgirl @schratze Even the CDC has admitted masks do nothing at this point. Even with N95 they have to be worn correctly and proper pressure for an entire day? Yeah, right.

@thendrix @catgirl it isn't that simple. A simple medical mask also reduces your chance of infecting others. As does a KN95 mask that isn't worn 100% perfectly all the time.

@schratze @catgirl Yes, all the people with masks below their nose make a huge difference... it's just a virtue signal.

@schratze @catgirl >Change the definition of vaccine>Count flu cases as covid>Count random deaths as covid>Murder people and say it was covid>Rush roll out>Roll out causes more variants>The gene therapy itself has variants>Create 6 different therapies"But we still need more lockdowns and jabs"I hurts to know people can be this dense

@catgirl @schratze Vaccines are effective reducing death if the numbers are to be given the most minimal of trust, however, why risk death and life long side effects when you can take ivermectin or any other harmless thing? It's like the 1800s when soldies got limbs amputated because the doctors didn't knew how to extract bullets/debry instead

@starbreaker @catgirl Well that's a given, people with principles die by their principles, unlike a moron like you who slaps any given label unto them without questionBut nevermind me go off queen yaaaas :02_dance:
