@Moon people shit on disco, but I never understood the hate, despite the fact it was the same beat over and over every song.. Not my era anyway, but today’s music is just nonexistent, music as an art form is dead IMO, the 80s were the last breath of what music had left in terms of innovation stylistically, music as art started to go underground…I feel like I’ve heard this before. Is that Michael McDonald in the back? Not a bad song, enjoyed the playing, arrangement, and writing… Piano holding it down is nice. Drummer is solid and fun.

@mrsaturday @Moon hrm, IMO rock sucked in america, you had to go elsewhere to find anything worth listening to besides two albums each from maybe a handful of bands, so maybe 15-25 albums that are worth carrying well into the future, the rest are timepieces IMO.

@mrsaturday @coyote @Moon I loved Disco, but then I was a stupid kid at the time. I really liked the combination of classic orchestral sounds with modern instruments. It's funny how some people thought rock was more authentic when you have had bands like Alan Parsons, ELO and even David Bowie experimenting with orchestral backed tunes.

@coyote @Moon Eh, there was a ton of cultural exchange between the US and UK at the time thanks to the Beatles, so no one really thought of whether or not a band was European or not. Led Zeppelin and Def Leppard have huge redneck followings here despite being British.
