The article contains an even greater amount of pushback against the issues and premises related to the purported draft Executive Order, but notwithstanding all of this, the article certainly gives a great deal of oxygen to the central theses of those who suggest that the 2020 election was stolen.

@StockliRacer And one wonders:Perhaps this all could have been accomplished without requiring an Executive Order.There is no reason that we would have to know if a Special Prosecutor was appointed and at work right now.And there are many ways that the needed evidence could have been acquired without an EO.If a draft EO was prepared, perhaps it was but one way to produce the means to obtain a particular end.

Trump could not possibly expect obedience, let alone a constructive effort, after what they'd said about the election ("most secure in history").DHS made their statement on Nov 12th, 2020. The Texas case was dismissed on Dec 11th. The date of the draft shows Dec 16th.EO 13848: DNI has 45 days to investigate and submit a report...

@Kehar @Andre I too have friends who were horrified by what happened. They said Trump supporters became a cult and just can’t be trusted and he can’t hold office again because of it. They didn’t like his personality but liked some of his policies. They can’t see at all that it was a set up and bad actors.

@Andre On one hand, this kind of shoots a hole in the devolution theory. If devolution was set up, this EO wouldn't be needed. Of course, one could also theorize this was dropped because devolution was in place. Devolution is interesting, but I haven't bought into it. I think the more likely course of events is the Republicans take the House and Senate in November and then investigations and changes take off in full force. I'd like to believe devolution is near, but I'm not there yet.

I can't fathom him including them after Nov 12th, as he does in the draft of Dec 16th...

@Andre @StockliRacer What I'm saying is, at least for Trump, this would never have been put into effect.Perhaps, staffers drafted it, because draft policy documents can take weeks to get going, but Trump shot it down... because what's the point with a DHS that had publicly demonstrated insubordination. This is even though I realize that the election integrity statement wasn't by the Secretary, but a subordinate office.
