Hmm, there seems be a bug in GCC's code generation for the PDP-11. And this area seems not to be actively maintained. So, any recommendations for cross-compiling to PDP-11 on a modern platform?(Trouble when passing 32 bit quantity to a function when retrieved from an array.)The PDP-11 is, of course, acting as a second processor attached to a BBC Micro.Well, it's a PDP-11 emulated on a Raspberry Pi, but that's much more convenient.#pdp11 #retrocomputing #gcc #bbcmicro #acorn

@EdS How did you set up the cross-compiling environment?

Ah, it's a friend who's in the gcc-for-pdp11 exploration space, so I don't exactly know, sorry.I've just heard he's found and fixed that first problem. Now he has a problem with 32 bit division routine because 32 bit comparisons are broken.@jirka

Here's a thorough telling of the PDP-11 compiler bug story!Trying to compile a short pi spigot C program to run on a PDP-11 - in an Acorn microcomputer second processor context.https://retrocomputingforum.com/t/modern-pdp-11-c-compilers/2329?u=eds#pdp11 #retrocomputing @jirka
