I am working on some fediverse software similar to Pleroma and am writing it in Java with SpringBoot. The end goal will be to compile it through GraalVM and have optimize it to work in low-memory environments. My goal is that the Java Server runs in 512MB or less RAM (excluding postgresql). While not a Mastodon clone I will still aim to support OAuth and the Pleroma API to enable existing fediverse clients to support it. What would you be interested in seeing in this software?

@darkstar Because we're using Spring data, it should just update the schema to whatever database you hook up to it. E.g. Switching the postgresql driver to postgres and updating the connection string should just work. I only officially plan to support PostgreSQL but would be happy to include a community maintained guide on how to swap the database driver. This in theory should be able to completely run on a Raspberry Pi with 512 MB of memory esp once it's compiled into an AppImage with GraalVM.

@darkstar A small number of pages:- Home- Login- Registration- Account ManagementAre unfortunately Thymeleaf Pages with limited functionality, basically enough to do the bare minimum account manage and provide OAuth for your Fediverse app. Everything else is a REST api.Over time I might build my own frontend although the current plan is to have Spring host a /web/ directory where you can compile Mastodon assets and drop in or use your own frontend (pleroma, etc).
