One of my biggest problems with science-worshipping nerds is that they can't accept anything without academic peer-reviewed studies, but there's all sorts of things that have never been studied and never will out of fear that they'll find the "wrong" results. Microchimerism is the first one that comes to mind. Could you imagine the damage it would cause to society if some "reputable" college came out and said that a woman retains the genetic material of practically every dude she's ever slept with? And that it can have trace effects on the genetic traits in offspring? How many murders/suicides that could cause? How the entire "dating culture" of society would have to be rapidly re-written if people found out about that? So instead of worry about that, they'll simply never study it so a socially "incorrect" outcome is never even a possibility.

i think microchimerism is really interesting but i just think genetics is an interesting area of study. largely knowing about this is a positive because it pushes the idea of single partners even harder, for people who already believe in it it just reaffirms their beliefs while people who are hedonists might suddenly have a seed of doubt planted if they ever want to have a family of their own. the truth is a good outcome no matter what. maybe people will value their women a little more and realize everyone into just an interchangeable human economic unit. just more of the same things that have been said before

Most vegetable oils are seed oils, just a shitload of seeds processed into this stuff. Canola oil uses rapeseed, probably one of the worst, but none of it's good because your body can't process such a concentrated amount of seeds at once.

Ghee / Clarified Butter is a great replacement for high temperature cooking, I think Olive oil's smoke point is 350, but Clarified butter goes up to 500. It is cheap and easy to make, but a bit time consuming to constantly skim off the milk solids. It is an older type of oil since it was used to preserve butter over the winter. It has a shelf life of a year refrigerated or in a root cellar, so it has been common in the European diet for centuries.
