       Had a great surprise phone call with a woman I worked for last summer who talked about me to another woman she worked with this past fall whose goal in life seems to be to put as many women on the production teams of some pretty high profile shows and she says I can consider my foot firmly in the door! Somehow most women I meet in the production world have this mindset of camaraderie that is sadly a much rarer find in so called feminist organizations. I guess it's because it's impossible to not be aware of how men frequently view us in such an environment. But I suppose the only way we can keep operating the way we do is if we don't put a name to what we're doing. Put a name to it, and men will ultimately set out to destroy it.

       We absolutely can put a name to it but need to keep it to ourselves and practice tight pipeline control of inclusion and access. This isn’t really as hard as it seems, however weak women will make it weak!

       Well that's what I'm saying. Put a name to it or not, it must be kept to ourselves, it needs to be kept "hush hush." Women's networks and spaces may as well be speakeasies at this point and in a way, they always have been. Relationships between women, absent men, are always seen both as silly and as a threat whether that be a very public organization or something as private as an enduring friendship between two women during the years it is thought they must be preoccupied with male servitude.
