@thebiologist1117 With some of your help/tips I captured this. I had the camera propped up on my sons xbox that was sitting on a foot stool. Aperture wide open(f/2) camera physically in real close. Shutter speed ended up being like 2 or 4 seconds if I recall(had it in aperture priority). When I got it all setup the cat ended up leaving. I had to wait for her to come back so I could snap this. Not sure if the remaining blurriness is caused by a bad focus job or some slight movement in the camera when I pressed the shutter button. I really need to get me a remote cable. Could be the lens to maybe?Overall I still like it.#35mm #photography

@mgrondin@youdabomb.social Did you have to scan it in order to post?

@thebiologist1117 I did...Well not myself. The local store I take my film to will scan it right from the negative. I don't even get them printed just developed and scanned.

@mgrondin @thebiologist1117 Apperture was probably too open, so you ended up with a very shallow depth of field and the image lost the focus. At least is what I guess.

@brunofontes Well It was wide open so that's probably it. I should have gotten in closer. Either way it's still nice and is a learning experience. @thebiologist1117

@mgrondin@youdabomb.social Do you save them?I think it's important to save all of your photos, even if they're bad.You never want to discard a photo just after you take it. Even photos that "look bad" can actually be really good. It's to do with what you notice. If you don't see a photo for a while, you can come back to it and notice all of the really good things that you couldn't see in the moment. You can also learn a lot by looking back at "bad photos." ☺️

@mgrondin@youdabomb.socialWith some of your help/tips I captured this. I had the camera propped up on my sons xbox that was sitting on a foot stool. Aperture wide open(f/2) camera physically in real close. Shutter speed ended up being like 2 or 4 seconds if I recall(had it in aperture priority). These sound like exactly the settings I would've chosen!Indoors, a 2 second exposure makes a lot of sense, since there's basically no light in the room (from the camera's perspective). The aperture being wide open (f/2) also makes sense for the same reason. You need as much light as possible coming into the camera.--Not sure if the remaining blurriness is caused by a bad focus job or some slight movement in the camera when I pressed the shutter button. I really need to get me a remote cable. Could be the lens to maybe?I would say it's the shutter speed. When I've tried to take dark indoor pictures of my cat, 9/10 of them come out blurry because he twitches a lot.If your cat does twitch, that can throw off your focus (if you were focusing on the eyes, your cat can twitch so he's not in focus anymore).--That creates a dilemma. You need a high shutter speed to photograph pets (or you need to take one perfectly when they're not moving for the length of the exposure) but there's not enough light to have a high shutter speed, so... Yeah, it creates a problem.
