Arch is a fine OS but I really wouldn't use it on servers unless you live dangerously

@norm@misskey.biribiri.dev I like arch for it's own reasons but I can't recomend daily driving it unless you're willing to give up some free time to fixing problems. if that's your jam, feel free, but meh

@norm my thoughts exactly, ditto for any rolling release system

@norm Debian is a fine OS but I really wouldn't use it on a development machine where I need the latest version of everything.

@wolf480pl @norm I use Debian (Stable) for development (well, actually porting from Windows at the moment)

@sjb @norm presumably your development doesn't need the latest version of everything.

@wolf480pl @norm I actively try to avoid relying on the latest version of everything, or things that are likely to change quickly. Also try to minimise dependencies in general.I imagine if you are writing web-facing stuff you'll need a different stance for security updates, though.
