A couple of years ago I had a pretty bad experience with Bluetooth headphones on Linux. I remember someone saying online that that’s just the way things are on Linux, so I just used wired headphones from then on. I tried using Bluetooth again yesterday and had a seamless experience once connected. I don’t know if it’s down to pipewire or some other project, but I’m very appreciative of all the work put in by developers.

@jiewawa I'm lucky that I've never had a problem with bluetooth on #Linux.Printers on the other hand...

@jiewawa @ChrisWere Printing on #windows isn’t that much better. PrintNightmare was a big mess last year, maybe it still is.https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/new-windows-security-updates-break-network-printing/

@ilyess @ChrisWere I think it depends on the make of printer. I remember hearing a Destination Linux episode where they spoke highly of HP printers for Linux compatibility. I personally have never had any issues

@ChrisWere @jiewawa same here... Had better experiences with Brother (even though support was proprietary)

@ChrisWere @jiewawa i bought brand new HP printer a few weeks ago. The model is not brand new but it is recent. What i had to do:- flash printer firmware via windows- disable a bunch of services on it since they xome with many stuff enabled- connect printer to local wifi via printers web interface- open gnome settings, selected printers and i had to type in my password to add printer which was discovered right awaySteps 1 to 3 are probably omitted by normal users.
