@barrett@barrett.dog i'd been always having issues with pixelfed, the last issue nuked the photos and broke the links so i just went eh whateverthese were the issues i had with it that i mostly just tolerated- newlines in pixelfed description turned into double lines in other federated software- having to manually run artisan commands every time you updated the app to refresh the cache and stuff- have to configure things through environment variables, and then run artisan commands every time afterwards- like half the admin features/pages were broken- edit page for posts never worked, would error- all pictures gone, showing no preview image- all links on homepage had :80 port at the end of them, breaking any links if you clicked around anywhere behind a reverse proxy. no environment variable to configure the generated link ports.and being in alpha software, it also didn't support federation things like custom emojis, etcbasically the only thing it has for it is that you can attach a lot of images to each post (customizable through env var), set custom max quotas per use (env vars) and it looks extremely similar to instagram imo
