The GOP are expecting a red wave in 2022 and in that regard the midterms will actually be a relative disaster for them. They will pick up a few seats in the Senate (nothing close to a supermajority) and they will remain the minority in the House. Trump will lose the 2024 presidential elections to whoever the Dems run.
