Mayors with their heads in the sand are not helping.New York City is having a huge covid wave and hospitals are full. Being outside with a mask probably isn't that risky, but people are going to gather in bars. I was in New York recently and though there are signs that you have to have a vaccination card to enter restaurants, when I stopped in somewhere to get takeout, there was no one checking.Glad no one thought de Blasio would make a good president.this is dumb

@MariaHillIt is dumb. Even if the Omicron variant isn't as serious, the others didn't just disappear and tons of sick people isn't exactly the way to say New York City is "open" whatever that means. @TonyStark The people not getting treatment for other life-threatening illnesses or injuries because hospitals are full of covid patients are the stories that infuriate me, like the car accident victim with broken bones who had to lie on the floor of the ER waiting room because there were no open ER beds.

@MariaHill @TonyStark It's abusive to patients and caregivers. It's very difficult for people in medical jobs not to burn out which just makes it all worse. #GetVaccinated

@DrHankPymI'm sure "omicron isn't as bad" is not much help with the huge numbers of sick people. Several days in, my symptoms are resolving but if I did get it despite three doses, I can only imagine how sick the unvaccinated people you are seeing are (assuming I do have omicron and not flu -- won't have results for a few days).I hope you are able to get some respite yourself. @MariaHillMy symptoms are about gone today. Still no test result.I'm really grateful for every single person involved in patient care. I hope people keep treating them all as the heroes they are and remember that now that the parades and appearances have all but stopped. @DrHankPym
