@Viking I never use it for graphical applications, but it works really nicely when I need to do something like mkisofs or whatnot that Linux has a better app stack for. It's a lot faster than spinning up a full Linux VM for those tasks.

@Viking I am pretty sure you can get X apps working but I am not sure about a full desktop.

@Viking -- I've got the Linux terminal subsystem running on Win 10. It works well for the simple commands that I have run and tested on it. Don't have a graphical system going though. For that, I use VirtualBox. I'm running Linux Mint and that runs with full screen capability and performance.

@TikToc @Viking it’s actually pretty great for development on Linux but when you are on windows and don’t want the overhead of Virtualbox etc. the networking / file sharing just works and no boot up time. A couple years ago I went to a meet up where a m$ evangelist did a demo of it and vscode with docker containers all working like magic. I figured with my new Pc game machine it was time to try it out.

@Viking Microsoft is harvesting your soul. Why bother asking such questions? Just install the real thing and never look back.
