       @nickNot sure what type of news you're consuming, but put simply:While it's not "good", it's also not nearly as bad as people feared. As we've learned from the deaths and hospitalization data from South Africa, Omicron is a much milder coronavirus variant than the previous ones.Omicron spreads much more quickly, and passes through your system much more quickly, and is generally a milder experience when it does. People are still dying, but not in droves.

       @dave @nick I've done math for fortune 500 companies in accident investigation (certainly not enough info to dox me). Your map tells me the CDC is run like a government agency without liability, granted a license to lie to the public without consequence. Any corporation this bad at math would be either: out of business, a pharmaceutical, or sued out of existence posthaste.
