I am seeking advice. I attempted to host a No Agenda meetup yesterday in Fresno. Sadly, no one showed up. I arrived five minutes before the scheduled time, had a meal, and departed about an hour later. I waited for anyone to make an appearance. Where are the No Agenda fans in Fresno? How can I make the next meetup a success? Was it the date? The time? The location? Please, any and all advice is helpful and wanted. @adam @Johncdvorak

@riker17 Maybe try a weekend day? A meetup on a Tuesday is difficult for many people, especially during the holidays...And try again. Hopefully it works out next time!

@riker17 @adam @Johncdvorak sorry to hear that :(I’ve hosted 4 meetups so far, and i have better success on Thursday or Friday. Mid-week is hard for a lot of people. And it’s a holiday week.Also, post it on the website early. And you may be the only Fresno producer, so hit some more people in the mouth! TYFYC!

@riker17 I've gone to Saturday meetups as it just seems to work better for everyone. I RSVP'd and there were 4 others. I think they said they expected 10. I drove 30 minutes to get there. Great experiences and I enjoy being around other producers.

@riker17 @adam @Johncdvorak I usually give 6 to 9 weeks of advance notice. I also start with inviting friends and business partners so "seed" the meetup before announcing it on meetup.com because then you can right away add guests. Last, but perhaps most important, make sure you have some quality speakers. If you have quality speakers people will come. My meetups are usually between 50 and 120 people pre corona, and now between 25 and 50 as long as the media continues to throw up (...)

@PG_Chrys @riker17 It’s rare to hear a donation from the Central Valley. JCD has a habit of dissing this part of California. A few months back he equated it to living in a dry dust bowl; having said he’s never visited the area. I hear a few Hanford producers names now and again. NA valley love comes more south of Fresno County imo.

@blackcloud i think there are some in Gilroyand maybe Santa Cruzand Monterey has a fewthat's further to drive (in this time of crazy gas prices) but maybe you could co organize with some of them or go to them.don't feel bad, it' hard to organize anything in this weird world. lA is open but no one guess anywhere except the Hollywood crowdJCD doesn't knowhe never goes anywhere 😎
