Never encountered someone online so grotesque before, I do have to ask my spinster mutuals whom I do care about very much and consider reasonable (@Jar@spinster.xyz @juneseed among many others) if they are okay with this being with their ideology. This was because I'm anti-porn by the way and criticised women who support pornhub. People like this is why I think feminism is at it's core a detrimental and misogynistic movement, they are a dime a dozen. @TheVeryLutheranHousewife 💗 I do want to apologize myself, I worry if I might’ve drawn this sort of thing to happening, because I do mingle so freely with other instances and you, because if someone cares about women and children (no matter how it might manifest) I do like to discuss and share ideas and such... You have a similar goal to me but some different ideas on how to get there, and you’ve been nothing but kind as well. I hate that this happened, and I do understand your pain about that kind of language because I’ve felt it from it as well. That sort of thing is just not okay, no matter how much you may “hate” a woman you don’t know, it’s not okay to joke about that or throw that in her face, especially if she’s pregnant... I want to assume the best for Rube though because as horrible as that post is, I think some button was pushed in the conversation (I don’t know what the context is?) and she might’ve just reacted with the worst thing that she could think of, I think we’ve all done that in arguments before. I want to assume the best for her because I’ve found her to be utterly fascinating and kind as well! You really are two intelligent women, who both care for women and girls, in your own ways but it’s the same goal all the same. And I wish she hadn’t spoken like that to you, I wish no one would ever speak like that to any woman, period. What you describe with the relationship between nationalists/the right and yourself, is actually very similar to what Dworkin wrote about in “Right Wing Woman” (amazing work). Many women are drawn to the right because it does feel safer for women, at the very least compared to a left which seeks to promote the prostitution/trafficking of women and girls, and put their sexuality as a “public commodity.” But the right is more traditional, and encourages a far more humane sort of prison for women to work in. Inescapable subordination to a man, but only ONE man, and that choice is easy for many women to make. Slave to a revolving door of johns and pimps, or subordination to a single man, which I call subordination because women didn’t have a choice, it was only recently we’ve been allowed our own credit cards and bank accounts. In the law we were extensions of our husbands, rather than ourselves. I’ve become absolutely disillusioned with the right/left divide, or any other political separations. I only have interest for those that care about women and children, and those who do not. Those that understand the issues that prostitution/trafficking/pornograph pose to women, and gender ideology (whether transgenderism or gender as the constructed oppression of women). The right and left both have their issues with women, and I can only hope to find sane women trapped in the tides! I’m only awake for a moment, I actually saw this when I woke up for a drink of water, but I felt so terrible I needed to say something... I hope any of this makes sense and conveys what I hope it does, love for you and love for Rube, too, though not her post or the words she used. You’re both incredibly intelligent women, the harder part is figuring out how we can come together so that we can be stronger, no matter what part of the political (or religious) spectrum we come from. I do say this having came from the left, I notice that people who come from leftist spaces can struggle with being cordial, and having respect/decency for others. I think it’s because the left is dominant culturally, at least in my area, that they never had to learn. You can get away with being a jerk to some conservative because who cares, they’re the minority where you are, you don’t have to. But my one conservative teacher at my very liberal community college, for example, had learned very well how to walk on eggshells, be careful with his own words, and respect opinions that he disagreed with, because he had no other choice, he was a field mouse in a den lions, to say it quite dramatically! I’m sure the right would be the same, and was in the past cycles/iterations we have had of our current political warring. It’s just unfortunately where we’re at, at the moment. I’ve rambled enough for the very early morning though, again I hope any of this made sense, I absolutely wish you the best in your pregnancy, birth, and family. I hope everything goes well and smoothly, and maybe we could even get a reconciliation between two different, but determined women... 💕🙏
