@lopp @orionwl unless you go to bars or enjoy shopping, you might not even notice the "lockdown". But it's certainly depressing, this time of year, despite pretty high vaccination levels.The part about having to live with your ex, I can imagine, is much more frustrating, but not really lockdown related?Suggested countries - that you can actually travel to - with better weather, less lockdown AND less covid: Thailand. For less lockdown, more Covid, more guns and kidnapping: Murica & Mexico 🙂

@sjors @lopp no, it's not specifically lockdown related, more like "one more thing that isn't getting better", depression is not a linear function of circumstances 🙂 the thought of moving to a country far away absolutely occurred to me, but to be fair i can't handle all the paperwork etc at the moment

@orionwl @lopp I wouldn't move (immediately). You can spend 30 days in Thailand without a visa. The covid related paperwork isn't too bad.Emigration is a *lot* more paperwork, and - having traveled a fair bit myself - overrated. The stereotype of the frustrated expat "tired of The Netherlands / Germany / UK" living in a warm country, is real. They're rarely happy, because they moved for the wrong reasons (insert Zen wisdom about running away from yourself).
