Reminds me of that episode of Futurma where Bender has to guess the worst he's least likely to ever say.

@josh my circle of friends used to be very multiethnic a few years ago and now I can't even imagine talking to those same people anymore

@josh This is why the left wins, because they always work to position themselves in place of power. While the right just sits around, says "wow what a dumb idea, no one would ever believe that" and then complain when they get cancelled for saying a man in a dress is not a biological woman.

@RainyDayFish @josh Yeah, but "become the public relations intern at Dictionary.com" isn't really the kind of political goal that gets right-wingers motivated.

@PunishedD @RainyDayFish @josh I was gonna say. Don't get me wrong that this is true to an extent, but the vast majority of these "positions of influence" are underpaid or nonpaid positions that you basically halt your life by taking up. The right wing diesel truck engineer has much less political influence than the unpaid forum janny on welfare. The core of it comes down to the banks being able to completely devastate your life for not toeing the line, and we all know that has nothing to do with "right" or "left".

@RustyCrab @RainyDayFish @josh The really sickening part of the last 5-10 years was how many gatekeepers and "positions of power" we discovered that shouldn't have been either one.The Dictionary.com intern isn't a position of power, an influencer, or a gatekeeper. But it turns out they're a single point of minor cultural influence, that can push a narrative if their boss lets them. In a sane world, the boss would look at this and say "that's dumb, pick something normal". But the boss is a college-brainwashed midwit who picked up the same ideology.Same with reddit mods and jannies. Same with whoever curates the Twitter trends. Same with librarians. Same with school board members. Same with the person running risk analysis at Mastercard.None of those are political targets, but all of them got captured by political ideologues. I would trace the root back to the education system, which is the main place all of them have in common.Fixing/restricting the banks lets you set up alternative systems. But you have to go back and re-capture academia (or neuter it) if you want the same broad level of infiltration.

@deprecated_ii @PunishedD @RustyCrab @josh Those diversity commissar positions actually pay quite well. There's a chart that shows a university paying 14 million dollars a year for various diversity officer positions, many of which make six figures.

@RainyDayFish @deprecated_ii @RustyCrab @josh That's a third level effect, I think. The first capture was the academic positions. The second effect was the skyrocketing rise in administrative positions, which is pretty well documented in everything from universities to hospitals to productive corporations. (That is its own rant.) Once you have ideologues as your employees and have normalized administrative bloat, then you can add completely useless administrators like diversity officers, with the support of your employees and the "directors" who climbed their ideological ranks.
