@Donjanusgjrdrm When I was growing up, people still used Merthiolate, an antiseptic used to disinfect minor words and scrapes.Yes, it contained mercury.So did thermometers, and we used to play with drops of mercury as well.And all of this in the XXth Century.

@karnage It was fun! Our HS science lab had a large jar of it. It was reeeeally heavy and I dropped the damned thing. I was 14 and literally almost *fainted* when mercury splashed halfway across that huge room, going in all directions. So embarrassing!😳😅 A bunch of us kids "swept" it onto dustpans & finally got most of it back in the jar.Nowadays men in HazMat suits & respirators would shut down the school...@Debradelai @Donjanusgjrdrm
