@Mia Thanks to supposedly true freedom we have proprietary compiler toolchains taking code from clang (this making it infinitely easier to make them, a c++ compiler is a huge task even for a corporation), OSes intended for teaching modified and put as extremely high privilege binary blobs running in a good chunk of consumer silicon(Referring to nvcc and minix here)

@Mia Well we aren’t getting rid of those anytime soon, so I’d say it’s better that their resources are wasted on making stuff that already exists (or take it and accept to publish chances) rather than have them take your effort

@Mia What do you mean by GPL is contradiction of itself? In short GPL says that: you have to pass along the same freedoms to your downstream that you received from your upstream.GPL and other copyleft licenses exist so that middle men can't take away your freedoms that original developer of the software gave you.

@lxo @Mia It's a contradiction if freedom has to be legalizedcopyright is bondage, copyleft is still copyright. abolish intellectual property.

@lxo @Mia That blog mentions:"All FS/OSS licenses have the following in common: they enable users to do whatever they wish with and to the software, and to have as full control as they wish over their own copies thereof."But my impression from the 9front fqa is that OSS license doesn't have to follow that.https://fqa.9front.org/fqa0.html#0.2.4.2
