@BlinkRape The shape of the population distribution is more important than population as a single number. You want your population to skew younger, as opposed to older, as such a situation is better suited to growth, rather than pension payouts.

@BlinkRape This doesn't surprise me. They're having the lowest birth rates since the last time they tried to undo their previous fuck-up (when they changed from 1-child to 2-children policy thing), and now they're trying to do the same thing, decades later again... they want to implement a 3-children policy, but almost no one there that can have children wants to because they're just like the rest of the world: zoomers that earn jackshit, don't want to support their parents and just want to fap to camwhores and smoke cheap pot :shrug: I'm pretty sure by next year there'll be a massive ban of condoms or something like that, and it'll fail, and in two years Chink-o-Land will have a clap+ringworm pandemic because everybody will start fucking each other in the ass, as long as they don't get anyone pregnant.

@BlinkRape @LukeAlmighty By that point it would be way too late to correct the trajectory they're on. In fact, it may already be too late. The fact is they created a society where people either cannot or will not reproduce at replacement rates. The underlying problems are not 100% clear (and it's probably not mostly due to the 1-child policy, since this is happening everywhere), but it won't be fixed by any 3-child edict from the CCP.I don't really care about the Chinese, but maybe we should look at some of the implications for our own society.
