This is going to be interesting. At around 6 pm tonight, there was a patch of ice under the snow that I didn't see and I fell on the sidewalk. Double fracture at the wrist. Right wrist and I'm right-handed. Temporary cast, have to go back to the hospital Monday morning for real cast.First broken bones in my life.

@Fullycaffeinated Je pense que je vais être OK. Par chance, j'avais fait des courses plus tôt dans la journée. Le doc à l'urgence m'a dit que j'étais sa sixième chute sur la glace de la soirée. C'est fini les trottoirs pour moi, à l'avenir, je marche dans la rue en espérant que les automobilistes vont faire attention 😬

@Chronic-Yonic oh, no!! I'm so sorry. Vibes for a full and speedy recovery.Take the pain killers they give you. It seems counterintuitive, but you'll use less medication if you take it when it's due, before you're in pain again from it wearing off. Do you take calcium supplements? Now would be a good time to start.

@grace_hawthorn Thanks. The doc at the ER said I was his 6th case of falling on an icy sidewalk of the day. Luckily earlier in the day yesterday I did run errands so groceries are ok. Just gave Mona her thyroid med and that took forever :blobjoy:

@Chronic-Yonic Oh dear, sorry about your accident and resulting pain. I have had several broken bones and torn ligaments in my life, mostly in ankles. Last one was also falling on treacherous ice. The pain subsides, and bones heal in time, and the pain will subside. Hope you can use your fingers at least. Resting is best cure for now. Did they mention an ice pack? To reduce swelling?

@Berco The temporary cast is pretty rigid so can't really use my fingers. I went to the ER with an ice pack on my arm, but the temp cast is so thick, don't think it would go through. Going back to the hospital at 9 am tomorrow for real cast. Will ask people on the street if they wanna sign it :blobjoy:
