Apparently in #NL you need a smart energy meter so it can figure out when it's 23:00 and 07:00 🙄 to switch between the 'high' and 'low' energy rate. So now I have one.*It turns out it has a P1 data/serial port (RJ11) with which you can read the meter's values (in realtime). But I'm having problems finding an adapter to connect it to f.e. a #RaspberryPi Does anyone have a recommendation for it?*) The installation guy adapted immediately (to me) and referred to it as the spy meter 😎

@FreePietje IDK I think spy meter may as well be the official name

@balglaas I had already found a description of the 'telegram' data structure, but it looks like I don't have to re-invent the wheel, thanks :)But what I'm (actually) looking for is the *hardware* part. What I've seen mentioned the most is a cable with a RJ11 connector on one side and a USB connector on the other.https://dsmr-reader.readthedocs.io/en/v4/explained/about.html#hardware-requirements lists "P1 telegram cable" and that's what I'm looking for.The articles I've found mention links which no longer work

@FreePietje I've been to a lecture about connecting a Raspberry to the P1-port (five years ago), the speaker advised against using USB, due to timing issues, he preferred connecting the cable to the pins (I don't remember which ones).

@balglaas Thanks, that's useful to know :)My guess is to connect it directly to the GPIO pins. That was my initial thought and why I did mention in my OP #RaspberryPi but not USB.I have several serial (console) adapters for the RPi and you connect 3 wires to (specific) pins for GND, TX and RX. The other end is USB for those adapters, but I think/hope it could also be a P1-adapter for my spy meter.
