@derek Hey DT, Steam is not a company! Steam is owned by Valve Corporation that used to make games only work on Windows. I think they ported their games to Mac and Linux only about 10 years ago.

@derek "If he had read the error message". The very first episode already showed that he's not reading any terminal output. He's just typing in stuff and wonders why it doesn't work/his system breaks. Also, why's he installing packages through the terminal anyways? Doesn't Manjaro ship with Pamac anymore?Another thing: he already complained about the "right click, save as" thing with GitHub on his podcast... I have no words... He's the biggest tech channel on YouTube ffs.

@derek Linus is a tool. His people make some good content. Some are fun. Anthony is pretty smart. Buy Linus is a tool. I've worked for people like him. I feel bad for his employees.

@derek My impression is, he's using specialty equipment. As such he's running into bugs, that other equipment (IE stuff I like you use) would be supported. But his streaming equipment is centered around windows, so he's having trouble. Am I way off base?

@derek It's like complaining about windows because removing the icon from the desktop didn't uninstall the program, you have to make some research to know how to uninstall a program. Change Windows with Linux and do the opposite process. Every windows user would disagree with this argument though.

@derek Linus is not a tech guy he knows to tweak few knobs here and there but at this point in time and space he is literally a windows impaired wanna be tech. All he does he gets his hands on a lot of hardware for which he gets tons of money to review. And of course nobody paid him to make a linux gaming review so his video about linux is a hint how his poor videos would look like without those $$$ bricks he usually gets.

@derek the apt and pacman thing is very legit for completely new users though, when all tutorials on the web tells you to use a certain command it's understandably confusing to get the "command not found". I think the majority of people think Linux is Linux, not Linux = tons of different distros with different ways of doing things.

@derek I thought he was very fair but also very wrong. Linux != Windows; and I don't think it should ever be. You can't pick up a new OS and expect it to be the same as the OS you have been using. Gamers just want to play games and don't care about the OS unless it is what is stopping them from playing their fav. games. Gamers don't want to learn a new OS unless they are forced too.

@derek hey DT! just saw your Linux Journey video. i am fascinated by the amount of experience you have with computers but never worked in this field (not even freelance?), perhaps the music journey was something you really liked the most. since you was around 80s, were you fascinated with music trackers or the demo scene? did you use Amiga? did you make any tracks?

@derek Every Linux install tutorial i ever watched clearly stated never just blow out your windows system for Linux until you have a bit of understanding of how Linux works. It didn't take much to grasp the basic understanding.It appears these guys borked rule #1 right off the bat.I've been taking in tutorial vids on Rust, lately. Many of these vids are produced by ms employee.He's on Win system but doesn't hide the fact he is 'VM' ,or whatever MS equivalent is,on Ubuntu.
